President: Alison Barker
Alison moved to France in 2006 and has two young boys in Ecole Maternelle. Whilst she intends that the boys will grow up in France, she is also determined that they should maintain their maternal English to take advantage of all future opportunities either here or abroad.
Secretary: Claudine Costes
Being a journalist by trade, Claudine has a passion for languages and brings a wealth of knowledge to the association. She has spent most of her life in Paris recently retiring to her family home and is able to guide us in all matters French. Claudine’s son is now grown up and living in Italy.
Treasurer: Jon Dobson
Jon and Kathryn have three daughters aged 13, 11 and 8 all of whom are in local schools. A career in banking made him the ideal choice for this position.
Founder & Administrator: Kathryn Dobson
Kathryn and Jon moved to France via Geneva seven years ago and joined a similar association in Ain (01). It soon became clear how vital it is to maintain children’s maternal language when growing up abroad – not just spoken but written too. On moving to Civray and speaking to other concerned parents, it became evident that there was a demand for a similar programme here and so Accents was born.
